Grief Retreats

Upcoming Retreat: The Winter Heart

In the heart of winter, when the nights are long and dark, we gather to remember we are not alone. This retreat offers a warm space to share what weighs heavy, read seasonal poetry around grief and loss, and rest in the comfort of community. Over hot soup we find nourishment, then turn to a gentle 'journaling for non-writers' art expression exercise.

The Altered Heart

Spring is the promise of renewal, yet it reminds us that every beginning follows an end. In this retreat, we reflect on the cycles of grief and transformation, honoring both the ache of loss and the ways love lives on. Guided readings and shared stories help us witness one another’s journeys. Over a meal, we gather strength from community, then turn to an activity of remembrance: listing the gifts, lessons, and traces our loved ones left behind.

The Abiding Heart

In this retreat, we create space to rest within the brightness and activity of summer. We share what is on our hearts and listen as others do the same. Together, we turn to readings that explore healing, abundance after loss, and the many ways grief moves through us. Over lunch, we gather strength, then turn to our art activity: creating a puzzle from pieces of memories of our loved ones.

The Golden Heart

Autumn invites us to honor change—the letting go, the longer nights, and the colder air. In this retreat, we gather to share our stories of grief and to listen as others do the same, supported by readings that speak to the courage of turning inward. We share a warm meal of soup. Our art activity, creating stained-glass candles, helps us reflect on the golden light at the heart of who we are. Even in seasons of darkness, that light remains, waiting to be seen, rekindled, and carried forward.
